Nail Surgery(All Types of Nail Procedures)

Nail surgery includes various minor surgical procedures performed to treat painful, infected, deformed, or abnormal nails. These procedures are done under local anesthesia, are safe, almost painless, and are usually completed within a short time. Patients can go home the same day.

Types of Nail Surgeries Performed

1. Ingrown Toenail Surgery :
   Removal of the corner or part of the nail that is growing into the skin and causing pain, swelling, or infection. Chemical cauterization (phenolization) may be done to prevent recurrence.
2. Partial Nail Avulsion
   Only the affected part of the nail is removed. Done in cases of localized infection, trauma, or ingrown nail.
3. Total Nail Avulsion
   Complete nail removal done in severe infections, trauma, fungal nail involvement, or tumors of the nail.
4. Matrixectomy (Permanent Nail Surgery)
   The nail root (matrix) is partially or completely destroyed to prevent regrowth in recurrent ingrown nails.
5. Nail Biopsy
   A small part of the nail or nail bed is taken for diagnosis of nail tumors, pigmentation, or unexplained nail disorders.
6. Nail Bed Repair
   Repair of nail bed after injury or trauma to restore normal nail growth and appearance.
7. Subungual Hematoma Drainage
   Drainage of blood collected under the nail due to injury for immediate pain relief.
8. Surgical Treatment of Nail Tumors
   Excision of benign or suspicious growths under or around the nail.
